Fenton Behavioral Health Services (FBHS) offers couples’ therapy sessions. Couples’ therapy begins with a careful evaluation of each member of the couple to ensure that no other conditions are interfering with the marital or familial relationship. Following this evaluation, the individuals are brought together to begin conjoint therapy. Important steps in therapy include: collaboratively reducing blaming and negativity within the couple or family; collaboratively creating common goals toward which clients can work (both independently and together); and collaboratively developing and implementing plans to facilitate the accomplishment of goals.
Duane provides assistance to the couple or family dealing with: communication skills; coping techniques; patterns of interaction; and any other important areas of stress. Also, Duane will help the individuals to generalize their skill development in order to apply these techniques to any future difficulties that may come up. Duane champions collaboration in adjusting the therapy process in order to best meet the needs of each couple and family. Confidentiality is a high priority at FBHS, and Duane works hard to ensure the privacy of everyone involved.
